Erick Nelson is a 17 year old senior at Lake Travis High School in Austin, Texas.
He is currently working on cues.com, the website for custom pool cue maker Josswest. Aside from website design, Erick is also a Technical Reviewer and Article Writer for Wrox Press.
In the ongoing process of enhancing this
site, Erick has employed ASP and Access97 databases as well as custom components and supporting applications written in VB5.
In September 1998, cues.com was featured in Billiards Digest magazine and received their Editor's Pick
award. Cues.com is also one of the 5 finalists for the South By Southwest Interactive Festival's best business (profit) website competition.
Erick also has an insatiable desire to learn new technologies.
He has taught himself HTML, Visual Basic, ASP, Perl, JavaScript and other miscellaneous programs. At school he takes the most advanced classes offered, including 3 years of Computer Science Honors or Advanced Placement.
When
Erick is not at school or working on cues.com, he enjoys playing computer games and working on his online RPG system. His outdoor activities include mountain biking, swimming, cliff jumping, playing tennis and snow skiing.
Living 30 minutes from downtown Austin, Erick also attends and contributes to many SIGs and other computer related events.
